The shifting market may be uncertain, but there’s a way for you to win.
How can you win in a changing market? I recently read a book titled “Seeing What Others Don’t.” There’s a story in there that can help answer how you can come out on top in this shifting market. It’s about the forest firefighter Wagner Dodge.
In August of 1949, his team was fighting a forest fire in a place called Man Gulch. They parachute in to fight the fire; unfortunately, some embers from that fire landed in their path. The fire started to grow, and Wagner told his team they had to go. They ran in the opposite direction of the fire, and as they ran up the hill, Wagner realized that the grass they were running through was the exact thing fueling the fire. There was no way for them to reach the top of the hill before the fire caught them. Thinking quickly, he made the decision to set fire to the grass around him, then lay down and wait for the fire to pass.
Wagner Dodge leaned into what I would call a success formula, which is about your knowledge, skills, and actions all being applied to the environment that you’re in. There was no instruction; all he did was tap into this skill. In the same way, as a business coach, this is what I do. I help you identify the gaps in your knowledge, skill, and actions so that you can have the results you’re looking for.
I’d like to see you win in 2023, and the way to do it is by focusing on your skill, ability, and knowledge so that you get the results you’re looking for through your actions. With that said, I have an assessment that can help you identify gaps in your skill, actions, or knowledge so that you can survive today’s shifting market.
Take the assessment so you can make 2023 your best year yet. I’ve waited a long time for a market transition like this, and one of the things that I realize is that the people who succeed just don’t quit, and the people who succeed will leverage the resources around them.
If you want to achieve your goals in 2023, be like Wagner Dodge. Leverage your skill and training; create the opportunity so you can survive and thrive. As always, here’s the link so you can take the assessment, and if you’d like a one-on-one conversation, feel free to text, email, or call me. I look forward to hearing from you!
